“The man in the dj booth nods his head in the rhythm of the beats, handles the records with gentle yet determined touch, and combines the tracks seamlessly with precise mixing skills. He smiles to the crowd and really seems to enjoy every moment. And so does the crowd. They go nuts with deeeep and sexy low frequencies, groovy rhythms and beautiful melodic patterns…"
Years ago Freeman (Oleg Varava) played jazz, blues and funky on the piano in different jazz bands. Then he started DJ'ing in 2003. Freeman also performed on a large number of parties and open-air festivals, which led up to him getting a residency at the “Picasso” club – one of the best clubs in his home-town. In quite little time, Freeman has gained reputation of being one of the most interesting rising house jocks.
Being a resident in the club, Freeman gained a wide experience in playing a large variety of music styles – from R’n’B and House to Break Beat and Drum’n’Bass. But still says, “House – is a music of my soul…” and shown that he is an experienced DJ who has a very respective skill of knowing what a crowd wants and needs next.
Freeman goes soulful, smooth, electric, techy, funky, groovy and melodic, sometimes even slightly trancey... but never too cheesy, of course :). But as a matter of fact, the genre is not the even the thing that counts, but the mood and feeling of the tracks. If the song has strong bassline, beautiful backgrounds, cathy melody, stylish vocals and forward going feeling, it definitely belongs to Freeman's record box.
Freeman has a very hype free attitude when it comes to playing. Instead of desperately running after the latest promos and following latest trends, which are present in his record-box, Freeman builds the plots of his sets, which are quite energetic and technically perfect, are based on the the releases he personally likes the best. May they be the newest or old, or well or not so well known, the only thing that matters is that the track sounds good!
